Associate of Science in
Emergency Services
The Associate of Science in Emergency Services provides students with the foundations of emergency management administration and the competencies required to work within the whole-community context of emergency management across the military and civil sectors.
Strong Career Potential
- The program is ideal for military service members with experience or career objectives in emergency management at the leadership level across the all-hazards spectrum.
- Public and private sector members with emergency management responsibilities that involve civil-military interaction will also greatly benefit from the program.
Flexible Learning
- Courses offered at satellite location classrooms, through the EagleVision learning system, online or through a blend of in-person and distance learning.
Certificate Credit
- Upon successful completion of the following courses — HLSD 110, HLSD 280, EMGY 310, EMGY 430 and HLSD 360 — the student may apply for the Embry-Riddle Emergency Management Leadership Certification.
- Students will also complete the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Emergency Management Institute Professional Development Series (PDS) embedded in their coursework.
Leadership Focus
- Students have the option to choose one of several alternative “leadership focus area” courses from a multidisciplinary pool of courses based on their professional aspirations.
